What we collect, and what we do not.
This site collects the minimum needed to answer an enquiry. This page says exactly what that is, where it is stored, how long it is kept, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What this site collects
Only what you type into a form: your name, your email address, a phone number if you choose to give one, and the message or request you write. Nothing else about you is collected through this website.
We do not ask for case identifiers, client names, government or court reference numbers, or documents at enquiry stage, and you should not send them. If we take the instruction, we will tell you how to send case material securely.
Why we hold it
To answer your enquiry, to decide whether we can properly take the instruction, and to keep a record of what was agreed. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to a professional enquiry, and — once an instruction is confirmed — the performance of that engagement.
We do not use enquiry details for marketing, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell or rent data to anyone.
Where it goes
Form submissions are delivered to our own inbox and recorded in a private spreadsheet held in Google Workspace, accessible only to the people handling enquiries. Google acts as our processor for that storage.
Because Google's infrastructure is international, data may be processed outside the United Kingdom under the safeguards Google provides for such transfers. No other third party receives your enquiry.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become instructions are kept only as long as needed to show how we handled them, and are then deleted. Where an instruction proceeds, records are retained for the period required for professional and insurance purposes, and no longer.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to do the following, and we will respond within one month:
- Tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy.
- Correct anything inaccurate.
- Delete what we hold, where we are not required to keep it.
- Stop processing it, or restrict how we use it.
- Receive it in a portable format.
Complaints
Write to info@asylumreports.com and we will deal with it directly. If you remain unsatisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority.
